DAY FOUR: Mead 11th in 5000m at World Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Track Club Elite's Hassan Mead placed 11th overall in the 5,000-meter final at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Monday. Mead hit the tape in a time of 13 minutes, 27.05 seconds.

This was Mead's third straight appearance in the World Championships. The former University of Minnesota standout placed 15th in the 10,000m at the past two global meets in London (2017) and Beijing (2015)

Mead, the reigning 5,000m champion at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships (NACAC), also placed 11th in the 5,000m at the 2016 Rio Olympics.​
