EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Track Club Elite's Hanna Green set an indoor personal best in the 800 meters with a first-place time of 2 minutes, 1.14 seconds at the Husky Classic in Seattle on Feb. 27.
Green, 26, now in her fourth season with OTC Elite, established a Dempsey Indoor facility record with her performance. She also placed third in the mile at the meet at 4:30.79.
"By doubling up, this was more of a training opportunity for Hanna," OTC Elite coach Mark Rowland said. "She bounced back well in the 800, which was more in line with her current fitness."
Green established her outdoor 800m PR of 1:58.19 with a runner-up finish at the 2019 USATF Championships in Des Moines, IA.
OTC Elite's Vince Ciattei also was in action this past weekend. The former Virginia Tech standout placed seventh in the 1,500m with a 3:40.54 clocking at the Texas Qualifier meet on Feb. 27.
"It's still early in the year," Rowland said. "But it was good for Vince to get back into a competitive 1,500. He was a little too quick on the front end for his current shape but he has the opportunity for another run this weekend."
Green and Ciattei are both scheduled to back in action on March 6 at the Sound Running Invite in Los Angeles.
