The 50th Prefontaine Classic
Buy your tickets now for the 50th Prefontaine Classic,
held at Hayward Field on July 5, 2025.
The Prefontaine Classic is held in honor of Steve Prefontaine, a world-class, long-distance runner who grew up in Coos Bay, ran for UO and at the 1972 Olympics. Steve also ran for the Oregon Track Club. He set world records from 1973-1975 until his death in 1975.
During its 50 years, the Prefontaine Classic has grown into a premier track meet, transforming into an IAAF Grand Prix meet in 1997 and then again as an IAAF Diamond League meet in 2010.
Tom Jordan, retired meet director and current OTC Board Member, directed the Prefrontaine Classic for 37 years until his retirement in 2021. Today, TrackTown USA directs the Prefontaine Classic. Learn more and get your tickets today.
