Oregon Track Club Officials Emeritus Program

The Oregon Track Club Officials Emeritus Program is a way of honoring long-time Oregon Track and Field officials who want to stay in touch with other officials but are unable to meet the arduous and time demanding requirements of officiating the large number of meets the Oregon Track Club officials work each year.

Membership in this program is purely voluntary. It is a way to stay in contact and have fellowship with the many coaches, athletes and fellow officials who participate each year in supporting the track and field meets at Hayward Field.

Eligibility

  1. Has been an active member of the University of Oregon/ Oregon Track Club Officials for a minimum of 20 years.

  2. Be at least 55 years old.

  3. Apply and be approved by the OTC Emeritus Committee.  Once approved, the official retains membership for life.  However, each member will need to apply annually for the yearly pass.

  4. If an official can no longer perform the normal duties of an official due to a permanent medical condition and has been an official for at least 15 years and is at least 50 years old, then they will be considered for admission to the Emeritus Program.  This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  Eligible officials can apply using the same Membership Application with a brief statement concerning the medical condition.  Once selected under the medical exemption, the official will receive all the benefits of the program.

Benefits

  1. Will receive an Emeritus Track and Field Official complimentary pass yearly from the U of O Track and Field Office which will allow entry into all U of O track meets except championship meets.

  2. Will be able to have the OTC provided lunch for officials at all home U of O track meets.

  3. Will receive an invitation to the University of Oregon Track and Field Program’s Annual Meeting of Officials normally held in February.

  4. Will receive a Certificate of Recognition from OTC which will also be presented at the Officials Annual Meeting.

  5. A listing of all Emeritus Officials will be maintained on the Oregon Track Club’s website.
