Blankenship 11th, Trouard 14th at USATF 5K Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon Track Club Elite’s Ben Blankenship and Andy Trouard took to the streets under cool and calm conditions at the USATF 5K Championships in New York City on Nov. 2.

Competing against a world-class field in a race hosted by the Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K, Blankenship placed 11th overall with a time of 14:11, while Trouard was 14th in 14:25.

Blankenship, a 2016 Olympic finalist in the 1,500m, last competed at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha on Oct. 4, where he missed a spot in the 1,500m final by a mere 0.13.

Trouard, a former NCAA Indoor 3,000m champion from Northern Arizona, was racing in an OTC Elite singlet for the first time.
