Blankenship, Trouard to compete at USATF 5K Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon Track Club Elite’s Ben Blankenship and Andy Trouard are scheduled to compete in the 2019 USA Track & Field (USATF) 5K Championships in New York City on Saturday (Nov. 2).
The elite USATF men’s and women’s races feature world-class fields and $60,000 in prize money. The athletes will run through the streets of Manhattan and finish in Central Park.
The USATF 5K Championships will be followed by the Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K which includes more than 10,000 participants. Both events will be held one day prior to the 2019 New York City Marathon.
Blankenship, a 2016 Olympian and 2019 World Championships qualifier, set his 5,000m personal best of 13:33.07 on May 25 at the International Flanders Athletics Meeting in Oordegem, Belgium.
Trouard will be making his debut in an OTC Elite singlet.
The former Northern Arizona standout set his 5,000m PR of 13:21.07 with a sixth-place finish at the 2018 Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford. He placed fourth in the 5,000m at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
