DAY NINE: OTC Elite's Gourley takes 11th in 1,500m

In his first season as a professional athlete, Oregon Track Club Elite's Neil Gourley finished 11th overall in the 1,500 meters at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Sunday.

Gourley, the reigning British indoor and outdoor champion, hit the tape in 3:37.30. He closed out the season with personal bests in the 1,500m (3:35.95) and 800m (1:46.12).

The 24-year-old Gourley is a native of Glasgow, Scotland and a former standout at Virginia Tech.
